Correction: The Atlas Society did not misquote Weiss. --- Update: I’ve improved the regular expression so that the comma is seen as separate from the preceding word, resulting in one less issue. --- The quote is all caps, as usual with the Atlas Society, but I’ve rendered it the way it’s intended to be, or at least is going to be, understood: as regular case. The Atlas Society gives a seemingly unrelated source pointing to a video of some Atlas Society Gala from 2022 that does not feature Weiss. It’s possible this video is a secondary source – maybe one of the attendants quotes Weiss. There’s no transcript so it would take too long to check. Either way, the Atlas Society does not indicate that this is a secondary source. It attributes the quote directly to Weiss. It’s a little hard to tell (non-native speaker here) whether Weiss says ‘based on the speech’ or ‘based on speech’ (omitting ‘the’). The YouTube transcript contains ‘the’ so I decided to include it, which is more charitable for the Atlas Society anyway.
